Caper Club Meeting and Decorate Community Room

You are invited to the Boardwalk Caper Annual Holiday Celebration on Friday, December 8, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Community Room (Ground Level of Building 6).

Shrimp and Light Appetizers will be provided by Caper Club during the social hour.  Please bring a Heavy Appetizer or Dessert to share.  Also feel free to bring your own adult beverage if you prefer.  Coffee and water will be provided.

Share the joy by bringing an unwrapped toy for a local child and a canned good for a local food pantry.

People have asked “What is a Heavy Appetizer?”  Following are some general guidelines—but feel free to bring what you want to share. 

Heavy appetizers are plates that are easily shared. Some examples might include:

• Slider sandwiches of all kinds: Ham and Swiss, ham salad, chicken salad, Italian meats and cheeses, etc.
• Chicken wings
• Meat balls
• Stuffed Mushrooms
• Pin Wheels
• Deviled Eggs
• Sandwich Roll-ups
• Egg Rolls, etc.  

Retail grocers carry tons of ready-made appetizers. Sam’s Club and Costco have trays of assorted pinwheel wraps, chicken salad sandwiches, chicken wings, Mediterranean tapas, etc. in the fresh deli section. Look too in the freezer section. Publix, Walmart and Gordon’s also carry fresh and frozen heavy appetizers.

The Internet has a treasure of appetizer recipes, if you are interested—especially, Pinterest and Yummly.  Or just Google “heavy appetizer”.
